idiot, she wants to shout at him. you big, goofy, idiot. but instead she finds herself laughing at how utterly stupid and annoying he is. but somehow, his sheer stupidity is endearing, and she cannot help but find herself almost thankful that he is who he is, and that he can smile when he is no doubt, a lot of pain, and bleeding quite heavily ;; someone had to keep a clear head, and he seemed to be having a better time doing that than she was.
’ there is nothing t e r r i b l y wrong with your face, robin. ’ and albeit she
doesn’t know why, she presses her lips to his brow, and wipes the sweat &
dirt that resides there. ’ i won’t leave you alone. not here. not like this. you
could… ’ die before i come back. then i’d never forgive myself. ’ no. i can — ‘
it was risky. she had never truly tried it alone. all the times she had practised it had been under supervision back home, with a book opened before her. but this was a time of need, and she would not leave robin alone — so, she grabs hold of his hand, and holds on tight. more for herself, than for him. she needs to be brave, and to have faith ;; in herself. she believes in him but not in herself… but right now she needs her talentcurseand not his.
no matter what, she needed to focus: hermione breathed in, and ignored the scent of death & blood. ignored the scent of the muddy ground around them and the fear that radiates from her body, of death so close, of his coldness almost embracing her friend… she focuses instead on the raging storm inside of her, and her hand almost crushes robin’s.
’ tell me where they are. ‘
( Lids flutter closed for the moment that she kisses his
forehead, thick, light lashes that frame his eyes interlock for
a brief moment. They do not stay closed ; thankfully. Hell,
Robin Hood has cheated death more times he would care to
count – and he was in the middle of something ! He couldn’t
very well give in to that. )
( He’d only let himself die when all this was over. He has a cause
to fight for, and it’s not one he would willingly give up without some
form of protest. Has he not already proved that enough times ? )
( Just keep breathing. )
❛—————— hey.❜
❛Don’t worry yourself over it.❜
( He gives her hand a reassuring squeeze, lets it be known that she
shouldn’t feel at all responsible for the outcome of this situation. It
would not be her fault if he didn’t live through it. )
❛In a small wooden box, in the hollow❜
❛beneath the great oak.❜
❛—- See, it’s not that far away.❜
❛Trust me. I’ll be fine whilst you’re gone.❜
❛I can look after myself.❜
